About Campus

 

This Institute was established in 1998 by Guru Nanak Educational Charitable Society (Regd.), Gopalpur, (Ludhiana) registered with the Registrar of Societies, Punjab. The affairs of the society are being managed and looked after by its experienced senior members, headed by the worthy President, Dr. Balwinder S. Walia an eminent philanthropist  and  educationist.

Guru Nanak Ayurvedic  Medical College & Research Institute, Gopalpur (Ldh.) is affiliated to Guru Ravidas Ayurved University, Hoshiarpur & recognized by National Council of Indian System Medicine(NCISM),Govt of India, New Delhi. The very first admission to the B.A.M.S. with just 22 students was made in Jan. 2001. Since then Institute is on the path of continuous progess and success. At present, students in 5 batches of yearly intake of 60 are pursuing Ayurvedic studies. Efforts are being made to increase the intake capacity of the BAMS course in future.

Our Institute conducts B.A.M.S. degree course of 5 years 6 months (4 years 6 months main course + I year compulsory internship) on completion of which the students are awarded the degree of BAMS. Further they may go for higher studies or join any Govt./Private Service or start their own practice.

The college is situated on midway of Ludhiana Malerkotla highway at a distance of just 20 kms from Ludhiana & 6 km from Mandi Ahmedgarh town. It has natural surroundings, with pollution free environment. The college has own its transport system for the benefit of day scholars.

Dr. Walia has taken an extremely dedicated step for mankind and for the ailing society by establishing Ayurvedic  Medical College & Research Institute and a well-equipped Charitable Ayurvedic Hospital. He has been constantly making sincere efforts to uplift Ayurveda with the help of modern equipment’s and new developments, which have been taking place in medical world in this current scenario. Our motto has always been to serve humanity with humility and dedication.
