“BASIC LIFE SUPPORT SKILL (CPR & AED) “
The Department Of Medical Surgical Nursing of Guru Nanak College Of Nursing conducted a regional level workshop on “Basic Life Support skill (CPR & AED)“ on 17/02/2018 at G.N.C.O.N Auditorium, Gopalpur, Ludhiana. The guests and participants were welcomed by a prayer Ganesh Vandhana followed by a formal stage function. The program commenced with the inaugural ceremony by lighting the lamp, by all the dignitaries. The chief guest for the workshop was Dr.Balwinder Singh Walia, Chairman, Guru Nanak group of colleges and he stressed upon “the need for nurses to be knowledgeable and skilled in the modern treatment modalities available for treating people with cardiopulmonary emergencies”.
The other dignitaries were Dr.Iqbal Singh Walia, General Secretary, Guru Nanak Group of colleges, Dr.Y.N Sharma, Admin Director, Guru Nanak group of colleges, Director J.P.S Obroi ,Dr. Ashwani Sharda, Principal, Guru Nanak Ayurvedic medical college , Dr. Jyoti Sharda Vice principal of Guru Nanak Ayurvedic medical college and Dr.Neetu Ohri, Principal, Guru Nanak college of education.
Dr.Harvinder Kaur, Principal, Guru Nanak college of Nursing expressed her views on “Cardio-pulmonary emergencies and basic life support skills(CPR & AED”, Mr.Jitendra Singh Dhakar, Vice Principal, Guru Nanak college of Nursing, Mrs.Anupama K, all teaching faculty, non teaching faculty and students were attended the programme.
The sessions of workshop included;
1. Glance on Basic life support skills(CPR & AED)
2. Introductory approach to Cardio-pulmonary emergencies-early detection and treatment
3. Cardiopulmonary resuscitation-maintaining airway and oxygenation
4. Defibrillation-restoring the normal heart rhythm
The workshop concluded with the distribution of certificates to the organizers and participants followed by vote of thanks and national anthem.
