I am greatly honoured to pen down a few lines for the prestigious Institutions of Guru Nanak Educational Charitable Society (Regd.), Gopalpur which encompasses a wide range of Educational faculties. Ayurvedic Medical Education and Surgery, Nursing Sciences, Academic Education and Research. The intricate works of our partons – Dr. Balwinder Singh Walia an eminent educationalist and Dr. Iqbal Singh Walia the General Secretary of the Society has established education as a dialogue between the teacher and the students.

Teachers play a significant role in promotion of excellence and values. A nursing student requires value education from a vast curriculum prepared by Indian Nursing Council and Baba Farid University of Health Sciences. As other systems of medicine are also included in the syllabus, this Institution will be able to enrich the students learning from theoretical and practical exposure in Clinical practice area & research. This will enable the students to impart health to the masses through prevention of disease, promotion of health and controlling the chronic diseases with an effort to minimize the occurrence of a disease.

Nursing Education is based on scientific foundation which imparts value of education to the students. Nursing as a science enables the student to think independently, study the problems critically so as to cater to the needs of patients and community at large. Nursing curriculum is designed to enable students to understand the objectives framed for each subject so as to increase knowledge (cognitive domain) develop a right attitude towards the clients (affective domain) and to demonstrate effective nursing skills (psychomotor domain). They are trained to take a definite stand against all forces of degradation and to cultivate an awareness of highly transforming values to become an agent of social transformation. With the synchronized efforts on the part of the Patrons of the institute, the Principal and Faculty of the three colleges, the students can be maneuvered in the right direction to be professionally competent spiritually alive and socially relevant by attaining perfection in nursing education, practice and research.
